Oh, I wish we could just split the difference, forget there's anything like a red or blue state and just remember how it feels to be alone. Now it seems the only unity is the feeling we'll get as the ship sinks, when we're passing out blame and apologies like the drunkest kid at his first college party. Are we just standing up to sit back down again – citing all the wrong sources to a generational sentence? Are we just standing up to sit back down again – when change just ain't what remains from dollars spent? And it is as it always will be, there's more holes in your argument than in my jeans but you wear them all out when you're in bed with the constituency. Well, that's the diplomacy. We march cuz you can't lead. What about humanity? Community? What about you and me? Are we just standing up to sit back down again – burning what we can't revise so the history books will read American? Are we just standing up to sit back down again – just stretching our legs? Some of us hate our freedom because this is all that we've done with it. They'll put a man on the moon but they won't get a man some food. They gave a TV show to that piece of shit Glenn Beck. And after two wars we find, justice is still blind. The fix is in. The real war is stateside. It offends my intellect. This is not progress. You're just marketing a solution to a problem you construct for your audience. There's a man on my TV screen telling girls to be thin and boys to be mean. I've written 15 letters to my state senator and haven't heard a word. And those stamps ain't cheap. And just last week in a speech, the president told me what he needs to proceed – the belief he's the change we seek, that we will be released – just one more vote, just one more seat. Are we just standing up to sit back down again – a generation seen as objects with objections? Are we just standing up to sit back down again – just stretching our legs?
